About Bramhall Physio

Bramhall Physio was established in 2013 by physiotherapist and practice owner Alison Sloan. At Bramhall Physio, we specialise in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, ranging from sporting injuries and post operative rehabilitation, to chronic longstanding conditions. Our physios have more than 40 years combined experience, and use their extensive skills and knowledge to deliver individual solutions for your problem.

Meet the Team

Alison Sloan

Alison graduated from Salford University with a first-class honours degree in physiotherapy. She worked in the NHS for many years before moving into the private sector, working for a large, private medical provider and managing a complex case load, of occupational and sporting injuries. During her time there, she gained a wealth of experience, treating numerous conditions and working closely with GPs, Orthopaedic Consultants, Radiographers, and Podiatrists.

Alison has studied with the Mackenzie Institute and is currently studying at postgraduate level in Orthopaedic Medicine. She says, “I am passionate about helping people regain normal, pain-free movement and I'm excited to see them return to sports and an active life"

Lucie Winstanley

With over 25 years of clinical experience following her BSc Hons Degree in Physiotherapy, Lucie has also achieved a Diploma in Orthopaedic medicine and a Degree in Anatomy, Human Biology and Psychology.

She has extensive experience in both the NHS and private hospitals, as well as in private physio and sports injury clinics. She has developed an extensive range of skills and knowledge in many areas enabling her to treat patients effectively in a holistic way and on an individual basis.

She has a passion for lifelong learning to develop further skills and knowledge to help people to her best abilities. She is currently studying a course in structural integration / functional bodywork that looks at the bigger picture of why an area may be painful and targets treatment of the root cause of the problem - for example, a stiff toe may be the culprit for your neck pain, or your neck may be affecting the way you squat and hence be contributing to your knee pain!!

Specific areas of interest include:

  • Myofascial release and structural integration.
  • Spinal assessment and treatment.
  • Upper limb
  • Lower limb
  • TMJ / jaw
  • Vestibular rehab exercises and treatment for BPPV a common cause of vertigo.
